Head of Sales (B2B), Travel Industry, North East England (Hybrid)
Are you a commercially driven sales leader with a passion for winning new business and developing high-performing teams? We're looking for an ambitious Head of Sales to play a key role in shaping the future of a growing travel industry organisation.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on creating opportunities, building strong industry relationships and delivering measurable commercial results. You'll lead and develop a small sales team while working closely with marketing and senior leadership to identify new markets, generate qualified leads and convert prospects into long-term customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the companywide sales strategy, achieving ambitious commercial targets.
- Lead, motivate and develop the sales team, driving a high-performance culture and accountability.
- Generate new business through proactive prospecting, networking, referrals, cold outreach and industry events.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities, ensuring consistent follow-up and conversion.
- Develop trusted relationships with travel businesses, business owners and senior decision-makers across the UK.
- Identify customer challenges and present tailored solutions that demonstrate value.
- Work closely with the marketing team to align campaigns with customer needs, market trends and commercial objectives.
- Represent the business at industry events, conferences and networking opportunities to raise brand awareness and generate leads.
- Monitor sales performance, pipeline activity and conversion rates, providing regular reporting and insights to senior leadership.
- Identify new commercial opportunities, strategic partnerships and routes to market.

What We're Looking For
- Proven success in a senior sales, business development or commercial leadership role within the travel industry.
- A strong track record of winning new business through proactive sales activity.
- Experience leading, coaching and developing successful sales teams.
- Knowledge of the travel industry and an understanding of the challenges facing travel businesses.
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing complex sales cycles and building high-quality sales pipelines.
- Commercially minded, results-focused and comfortable using data to drive decisions.
- A proactive, hands-on leader with the confidence to challenge, innovate and deliver change.
