The Role
The Head of Sales LATAM region will be responsible for overseeing the commercial success of GEP’s event portfolio in Latin America but also feeding in to our wider Carribean portfolio. The role combines strategic oversight and hands-on management of the LATAM sponsorship and exhibition sales team, commercial partnerships, client relationships, and market development. Working closely with the Group Commercial Director, Amercias Director and internal teams, this role leads sales planning, revenue growth, and operational delivery to ensure the commercial sustainability and profitability of the LATAM portfolio.
Key Aspects of the Role
- Delivering on revenue targets across multiple events & feeding in to commercial strategy.
- Leading and motivating sales, account management and event delivery teams.
- Driving existing sponsorship and exhibition sales alongside identifying new revenue streams.
- Building and nurturing long-term client and partner relationships at senior level.
- Acting as a market specialist and trusted advisor in energy, infrastructure, finance and technology sectors.

Key Responsibilities
Commercial Leadership
- Execute commercial strategy to maximise revenue and profitability across events in the region.
- Lead the LATAM sales function, ensuring effective pipeline management, forecasting, and performance monitoring.
- Feed in to the development of new business opportunities, product areas and partnerships to diversify income streams.
Business Development & Partnerships
- Source, negotiate and close high-value sponsorships, exhibition sales, and partnership agreements.
- Develop persuasive proposals and solutions aligned with client marketing and business objectives.
- Build strong networks with governments, associations, corporates and investors where needed.
Team & Operational Management
- Manage and mentor sales and delegate acquisition teams, driving a culture of high performance.
- Oversee the fulfilment of sponsorship rights, working with operations, marketing, production and editorial teams.
- Ensure smooth on-site delivery of commercial activations and manage rebooking cycles.
Market & Strategic Insight
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
- Provide regular reporting and commercial performance analysis.
- Represent GEP at events, conferences and business development trips across the region.
What We’re Looking For
- Fluent in English & Spanish (written and spoken), Portuguese, Dutch or French would also be a significant benefit
- Very strong experience in commercial management within events, exhibitions or energy / energy infrastructure sectors.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth, exceeding targets and managing high-value accounts.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing teams and developing talent.
- Experience/ knowledge of energy &/or energy infrastructure
- Experienced consultative sales & negotiation skills, proven with senior decision-makers.
- Strong organisational skills with experience of delivering under tight timelines.
- Flexibility to travel globally for events & competitor events
- Good working knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
