Head of Sales
Salary: Competitive
Location: Manchester City Centre | Office Based
Contract: Permanent
We're working with a growing business in Manchester that is at an exciting stage of its development and looking for an experienced Head of Sales to take ownership of its sales function.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys building teams, creating sales strategies and driving growth. You'll have the opportunity to put your own stamp on the sales function, develop the team around you and play a key role in the continued growth of the business.
This isn't about stepping into an established department and simply maintaining the status quo - you'll be joining at a stage where your experience, ideas and leadership can genuinely make a difference.
The Role
- Take ownership of the sales function and overall commercial performance
- Develop and implement the sales strategy as the business continues to grow
- Lead, coach and develop the sales team
- Set clear targets, KPIs and performance expectations
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline
- Monitor sales performance, conversion and revenue
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and maximise growth
- Coach the team through the full sales process
- Lead from the front and remain hands-on when required
- Recruit and develop new members of the sales team as the business expands
- Work closely with senior leadership to shape the wider commercial strategy
- Provide regular reporting and insight into sales performance
- Help build a high-performing, ambitious sales culture

About You
- Proven experience in a Sales Manager, Head of Sales or senior sales leadership role
- Strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
- Experience building, managing and developing sales teams
- Commercially driven with a strong understanding of sales performance
- Confident setting strategy while remaining hands-on
- Strong coaching and leadership skills
- Comfortable working with KPIs, CRM systems and sales data
- Ambitious, proactive and motivated by growth
- Someone who enjoys building rather than simply managing an established function
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
