We are now seeking an exceptional Head of Sales - Contract Logistics to lead the acquisition of new strategic customers across the UK. This is a high-impact role focused on identifying, developing and winning new contract logistics opportunities, with a particular focus on the Retail and FMCG sectors, while also targeting opportunities across grocery, drinks, automotive and related consumer industries.
This is a rare opportunity for a proven logistics sales leader who thrives on opening doors, building senior stakeholder relationships and delivering complex warehousing and supply chain solutions that create genuine customer value. Reporting into the UK Sales Director, you will be responsible for driving significant new business growth across our contract logistics portfolio. You will work closely with Solutions Design, Operations, Commercial and Implementation teams, leading the full sales lifecycle, from prospect identification and opportunity development through to tender management, solution presentation, negotiation and contract award.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic new business plan focused on contract logistics growth.
- Identify, engage and secure new dedicated warehousing and supply chain opportunities across the UK market.
- Build and maintain relationships with C-suite, Supply Chain, Logistics and Procurement leaders.
- Create a robust pipeline of high-value opportunities within retail, FMCG, grocery, drinks and automotive sectors.
- Lead complex sales processes, including RFIs, RFPs, competitive tenders and solution presentations.
- Work in partnership with Solutions Design and Operations teams to develop compelling customer-focused proposals.
- Negotiate commercial agreements and successfully convert opportunities into long-term customer partnerships.
- Maintain a deep understanding of market trends, competitor activity and emerging customer requirements.
- Represent XPO professionally at industry events, customer meetings and networking opportunities.
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrable success winning new business within the contract logistics sector.
- Proven track record securing high-value warehousing, distribution and supply chain contracts.
- Experience selling dedicated contract logistics solutions into large enterprise customers.
- Strong understanding of logistics operations, warehousing solutions and supply chain design.
- Experience managing complex sales cycles and formal tender processes.
- Ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders up to board level.
- Commercially astute with strong negotiation and presentation skills.

In this role, you'll be expected to:
- Deliver new business growth across XPO's Contract Logistics division.
- Build a strong pipeline of strategic opportunities.
- Secure major dedicated contract logistics contracts.
- Develop long-term customer relationships that generate lasting value for both our customers and XPO.
- Position XPO as the partner of choice across key target sectors.
