Referment is working with a growing B2B software business to hire a Head of Sales to build and lead its commercial function through its next stage of growth.

The company has an established product, existing customers, and a healthy pipeline of opportunities. Having reached its current stage largely through founder-led sales, the business is now looking to build a more structured and repeatable sales operation.

This is very much a builder role.

Initially, you'll be expected to sell personally, working existing opportunities and developing new enterprise relationships. Alongside this, you'll build the processes, reporting, and commercial infrastructure required to scale the sales function.

As the business grows, you'll recruit and lead the wider commercial team.

The Role

You'll Be Responsible For

  • Owning new business revenue and the overall sales strategy.
  • Personally leading enterprise sales opportunities and closing new customers.
  • Reviewing the existing pipeline and identifying the strongest opportunities for growth.
  • Building a repeatable sales process from prospecting through to close.
  • Establishing appropriate CRM, forecasting, reporting, and commercial KPIs.
  • Developing the company's approach to enterprise prospecting and pipeline generation.
  • Working closely with the founders and wider leadership team on commercial strategy.
  • Recruiting and developing the sales team as revenue grows.
  • Creating a commercial function capable of supporting significant ARR growth.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This isn't a role for someone looking to inherit a large, established sales organisation.

It would suit someone who enjoys building, is comfortable operating alongside founders, and wants significant ownership over how a commercial organisation develops.

We're particularly interested in people who have previously helped take a B2B software business through a significant period of revenue growth.
