Head of Sales, Global Engineering and Technology Leader

Up to £90,000 Basic plus bonus based on EBIT + company car and full benefits.
UK-wide (Field-Based / National Remit).

We are looking for a brilliant sales leader with a CV that ‘sings with success’ and clearly shows how you have taken sales teams from ‘x to y’ in terms of increased sales income. This role requires a sales coach and mentor who sells high-value, complex solutions to corporate end users.

A world-leading innovator is looking to appoint a high-calibre UK Head of Sales to spearhead their British commercial operations. Our client operates across more than 40 international markets, combining cutting-edge engineering technology with a nationwide service footprint. This role is a strong fit for an ambitious, player-coach commercial leader ready to shape strategy, develop people, and run the division with true entrepreneurial autonomy.

The Role of Head of Sales

Reporting directly to the UK Managing Director, you will have the mandate to manage the UK business unit as an autonomous enterprise within an established global matrix. You will steward strategic client accounts, lead teams across high-stakes multi-stakeholder negotiations (£200k+ capital investments), and mentor an established team.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Directly leading 6 high-performing Regional Sales Managers and National Key Account Managers, with dotted-line oversight of technical delivery teams.
  • Leading from the front by shadowing in the field and helping build sophisticated propositions for executive boards.
  • Designing and executing an aligned go-to-market strategy.
  • Driving sales operational excellence through Salesforce, embedding global sales frameworks and accurate commercial forecasting.
  • Fostering high accountability, transparent 360 feedback, and celebrating team success during an exciting phase of commercial development.

This role demands a natural decision-maker who blends strategic ability with ‘leading from the front’ energy. Candidates must demonstrate:

  • Direct experience navigating a mid-to-large global corporate or matrix manufacturing structure, balancing central governance with fast local execution.
  • Minimum 8 years progressive B2B commercial experience, featuring 3 to 5+ years heading sales teams with direct P&L stewardship.
  • A track record of closing complex consultative sales (£200k+ ticket values) over 6+ month cycles at board/C-suite level. Backgrounds across capital equipment, FMCG, industrial engineering, or B2B enterprise technology would be great.
  • Proven ability to coach and upskill commercial talent into seasoned strategic account managers.
  • A consistent, progressive, logical career history highlighting sustained achievement and clear commitment.
