Head of Sales
Enterprise Software | London
The Opportunity
Our client, a privately-held developer tools company, is hiring a Head of Sales to build and lead its commercial sales function. The product is a widely-adopted software component used by developers at a large share of the world's largest enterprises, distributed under a free/open model with a paid enterprise tier — this is a classic product-led-growth business now looking to professionalize how it converts that adoption into enterprise revenue, and this hire is central to that shift.
Company Snapshot
A privately-held, London-based developer tools company whose core product is used by developers at a large majority of the world's largest enterprises, distributed via a free community version alongside a paid enterprise license.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You'll Own
- Building and leading the company's sales function from the ground up, including hiring and process design
- Converting product-led adoption (widespread developer/community usage) into enterprise licensing revenue
- Engaging technical buyers and economic decision-makers within large enterprise accounts
- Defining and owning the enterprise sales motion — pricing conversations, procurement, and renewal/expansion strategy
- Partnering closely with product and engineering leadership, given the technical nature of the buyer
What We're Looking For
- A track record building or scaling a sales function at a developer tools, open-source, or PLG (product-led growth) software company
- Experience selling to technical buyers — engineering leaders, architects, developers — not just traditional economic buyers
- Comfort operating without a large existing sales infrastructure — this is a build role
- Experience converting free/self-serve users into paid enterprise customers
- Credibility with both technical and commercial stakeholders
