Fable & Mane is an Ayurvedic haircare brand founded by sibling duo Akash Metha and Nikita Kanani, built to bring the hair rituals of their Indian heritage to a global audience. Since launching in 2020, the brand has grown into a category leader in clean, vegan, cruelty-free haircare. Every purchase supports The Fable Fund, with 2% of annual global net sales donated to protecting wildlife and their habitats.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a fixed term maternity cover of approximately 12 months, offering a unique opportunity to join Fable & Mane at an exciting stage of growth. Reporting into our Chief Commercial Officer, you will play a critical role in driving commercial performance, leading international sales and marketing activities, and accelerating brand growth across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

RESPONSIBILITIES

These will include but not limited to:

Category Growth Vision
Assess the hair care category within each market/client, identifying key growth opportunities.
Define strategies aligned with the brand’s objectives, working closely with Brand Marketing teams.
Provide continuous feedback on client/channel needs to enhance the Marketing and Trade Plans.
Analyse competition, both in Brick & Mortar and Digital environments.

Commercial & Sales
Develop and execute market and retailer strategies to achieve market share, revenue, margin, and growth targets.
Lead P&L responsibilities, sales and investments forecasting, target setting.
Negotiate commercial terms and agreements with clients.
Monitor monthly distribution, market share/rankings, sales, and investments and put in action plan to drive growth.
Ensure correct pricing implementation and client invoicing.

Retail Marketing
Negotiate and implement Trade and Retail Plans across physical and digital channels.
Oversee the correct implementation of assortments in points of sale, planograms, in store materials, digital assets and training activations with Marketing.
Work closely with Brand Marketing teams to build strong marketing plans by market.

Customer Management – Joint Business Planning
Build and maintain long term relationships with major international retail chains, e-commerce platforms, and distributors.
Develop joint business plans to drive category growth in each account.
Set up, prepare and follow up on monthly/quarterly business updates with clients.
Ensure excellence in customer service through order tracking, invoicing, and outstanding charge follow-ups.

Lead and mentor ROW team.
Partner cross-functionally with Brand Marketing, Creative, Digital, Operations and Finance.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate is a commercially driven and strategic sales leader with a strong track record in the beauty industry and a passion for building brands across international markets. You will combine strategic thinking with a hands-on, entrepreneurial approach, leading commercial and retail trade marketing activity across Europe, the Middle East and Asia while strengthening key customer partnerships, developing a high-performing team and delivering sustainable revenue and market share growth.

You will have:

  • Proven experience in a senior sales and/or commercial leadership role within the beauty sector.
  • Strong track record of driving revenue growth and building strategic retail partnerships.
  • Experience managing international key accounts across multiple markets.
  • Commercially astute, with experience in forecasting, budgeting, and promotional planning.
  • Skilled negotiator with excellent relationship-building abilities.
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong understanding of retail dynamics, including sell-in and sell-out performance.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
