Head of Sales Operations & Enablement

London (Hybrid - 2/3 days per week)

We're looking for someone who gets things done.

Someone who can walk into a growing business, quickly spot where things aren't working, cut through the noise and actually do something about it.

You'll be working with senior leaders across Sales, Marketing, Pre-Sales and the wider organisation, identifying the gaps between strategy and execution and turning them into action.

You'll challenge people when things aren't working. You'll hold senior stakeholders accountable.

You'll bring different functions together when they're pulling in different directions. And you'll help create the kind of accountability, ownership and culture that allows a high-growth business to scale.

This isn't a role for someone who wants to sit behind a dashboard, build another process or spend six months analysing the problem.

It's for an operator.

Someone who sees an issue, understands what's really going on, gets the right people around the table and drives it through to a better outcome.

Our client is a rapidly growing global cybersecurity business helping organisations identify, prioritise and mitigate digital risk across their external attack surface.

They're now looking for a Head of Sales Operations & Enablement to help shape the next stage of their growth.

Reporting directly to the COO, you'll operate at a senior level across the commercial organisation, working closely with the C-suite and senior leaders across Sales, Marketing and Pre-Sales.

For the right person, this is much bigger than a traditional Sales Operations role. It's an opportunity to influence how the organisation operates, drive meaningful cultural and commercial change, and potentially grow into a broader COO-level position over time.

What You'll Be Doing

Spotting Gaps & Driving Change

  • You'll get close to the business and quickly understand where things are working, where they're not and what's getting in the way of growth.
  • You'll identify the gaps between strategy and execution and take ownership of fixing them.
  • That could mean addressing issues between Sales and Marketing, improving how opportunities are progressed, strengthening accountability across teams or identifying where a lack of ownership is slowing the business down.
  • You'll be expected to identify quick wins, take action and deliver visible improvements.

Holding Senior Leaders Accountable

  • You'll work with senior leaders across Sales, Marketing, Pre-Sales and other functions.
  • You'll need to be comfortable asking difficult questions, challenging assumptions and holding people accountable for agreed actions.
  • Where different functions aren't aligned, you'll bring the right people together, get to the root of the issue and drive towards a resolution.
  • You won't necessarily have direct authority over everyone you work with, so influence, credibility and emotional intelligence will be critical.

Building a More Effective Commercial Organisation

  • The business has a successful commercial organisation and people who know how to win business.
  • The opportunity is to build greater consistency around that success.
  • You'll help create the programmes, operating rhythms and ways of working that allow teams to execute more effectively and scale.
  • You'll work with sales leaders and sellers to improve areas such as pipeline quality, opportunity progression, deal execution, follow-up and sales effectiveness.
  • The focus isn't on adding bureaucracy.
  • It's on making the organisation better at executing.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Creating Cultural Change

  • This role goes beyond process.
  • You'll help build a culture where people take ownership, commitments are followed through and teams work together towards shared commercial objectives.
  • You'll need to understand the dynamics within different functions and know when to challenge, when to coach and when to bring people together.
  • The goal is to create lasting changes in behaviour, accountability and execution, not simply introduce another process.

Working at C-Suite Level

  • You'll report directly to the COO and have significant exposure to the senior leadership team.
  • You'll be working across the organisation rather than operating within a single functional silo.
  • You'll need to understand the broader business strategy, identify what it means for the commercial organisation and translate that into practical action.
  • You'll also have the opportunity to bring your own experience and ideas to the table.
  • The business is looking for someone who has seen this before and can share what they've learned from scaling businesses, including what worked, what didn't and what they would do differently.

Building for the Next Stage of Growth

  • You'll help shape how the commercial organisation operates over the next 6-12 months.
  • That means balancing immediate priorities and quick wins with the longer-term changes needed to support continued growth.
  • You'll help turn successful individual behaviours into repeatable programmes, strengthen collaboration between functions and create greater visibility and accountability across the commercial organisation.
  • For the right person, the remit could develop significantly over time, with the potential to grow into a broader COO-level leadership position.

What You Should Have:

A Sales & Commercial Background

  • We're looking for someone who has come from a strong sales or commercial environment and genuinely understands how revenue is generated.
  • You should understand the realities of sales teams, customers, pipeline, deal execution and commercial performance.
  • You don't need to have followed a traditional Sales Operations career path.
  • In fact, experience across different commercial environments could be particularly valuable.

Action Orientation

  • This is one of the most important characteristics we're looking for.
  • You need to be someone who gets things done.
  • You don't wait for perfect information, endless meetings or someone else to give you permission to solve a problem.
  • You see something that isn't working, understand the issue, get the right people involved and drive it through to a better outcome.

Senior Presence & Influence

  • You'll be operating with senior stakeholders across the organisation, so you'll need the credibility and confidence to hold your own at C-suite level.
  • You should be comfortable challenging senior people when necessary and having difficult conversations without creating unnecessary conflict.
  • We're looking for someone who can command respect without relying on hierarchy.

Emotional Intelligence

  • Being able to identify a problem is one thing.
  • Knowing how to fix it within a complex organisation is another.
  • You'll need to understand different personalities, motivations and functional priorities, and know how to bring people with you when change is required.
  • You should be direct and challenging, but also collaborative and politically aware.

Scale-Up Experience

  • Ideally, you'll have worked in a Series B, Series C or similarly scaled technology business.
  • You'll understand the challenges that come with growth and will have experienced the inevitable mistakes, changes and challenges that happen along the way.
  • We're particularly interested in people who have developed genuine battle scars and can bring those lessons into the business.

Ownership

  • We're interested in what you personally did.

  • If you've helped grow revenue, improved sales performance or changed how a commercial organisation operates, we'll want to understand your specific contribution.

  • You'll need to be comfortable moving beyond "we" and explaining:

    • What did you do?
    • What did you identify?
    • What did you change?
    • Who did you influence?
    • What resistance did you encounter?
    • What was the outcome?
  • We're looking for someone with a clear track record of personal impact and ownership.

Strategic Thinking

  • You'll need to be able to zoom out as well as get into the detail.
  • While you'll be expected to identify quick wins and make an immediate impact, you'll also need to think about what the business needs from its commercial organisation over the next 6-12 months.
  • You'll help translate that thinking into practical programmes and actions that the organisation can actually execute.

What You'll Get

  • Six Figure + base salary, Variable Bonus, Share Options + others usuals.
  • Senior leadership position reporting directly to the COO
  • Significant exposure to the C-suite and wider leadership team
  • Opportunity to influence how a growing global cybersecurity business operates
  • London-based hybrid working, with 2-3 days per week in the office
  • Significant autonomy and ownership
  • Opportunity to work across Sales, Marketing, Pre-Sales and the wider commercial organisation
  • Opportunity to bring your own experience, ideas and lessons from previous scale-ups into the business
  • Potential for the role to develop into a broader COO-level position
  • Opportunity to make visible and measurable changes to the way the organisation operates
  • A key role in shaping the next stage of the company's growth
