Head of Sales – SaaS & Investigative Technology

Home Based | UK Travel

We are working with an established business specialising in digital forensics, cyber security and investigative technology, looking to appoint a hands-on Head of Sales.

This opportunity would suit a sales leader who has sold SaaS or software solutions into police, defence, law enforcement or related public-sector organisations. Direct experience selling digital forensics or investigative software would also be highly relevant.

You will lead and develop an existing team of two, improving sales performance, refining processes and helping each person consistently achieve and exceed their targets. Alongside this, you will carry your own quota, taking responsibility for generating new business, developing key accounts and closing deals.

The Role

You will take ownership of team and individual sales performance across a specialist portfolio of software, technology products and services, with opportunities across UK and international markets.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, coaching and developing two salespeople through regular reviews, clear objectives and practical support
  • Improving quota attainment through stronger prospecting, qualification, pipeline management and deal execution
  • Reviewing and refining sales processes to build a consistent, repeatable approach to winning business
  • Carrying and delivering against your own sales quota
  • Managing the full sales cycle, from identifying opportunities and generating leads through to negotiation and close
  • Developing existing accounts and identifying opportunities to grow revenue
  • Building relationships with senior decision-makers, technical stakeholders and procurement teams
  • Maintaining accurate CRM records and providing reliable revenue forecasts
  • Working closely with technical and operational colleagues to shape proposals around customer requirements
  • Representing the business at relevant industry events and supporting its wider growth plans

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a commercially driven sales leader who enjoys developing a team while remaining directly involved in winning business.

You should also bring:

  • Proven experience managing and coaching a sales team
  • A track record of personally meeting or exceeding sales quotas
  • A strong new-business mindset, with the ability to generate opportunities and close deals
  • Experience improving sales processes and individual performance
  • Confidence managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders
  • Strong pipeline management, forecasting and CRM discipline
  • A consultative approach, with the ability to connect technical solutions to customer needs

An understanding of public-sector procurement and an established network within relevant markets would be advantageous.

You do not need to be a digital forensics specialist if you bring strong software sales experience and a proven understanding of these customers.

Additional Requirements

Due to the nature of the organisation’s work, candidates must have a minimum of five years’ UK residency, hold a full driving licence and successfully complete the required pre-employment and ongoing security vetting.

This is an opportunity to make a direct commercial impact: develop a small sales team, strengthen how it sells and lead by example through your own results.
