Head of Sales / Sales Director
Consultancy | Technology Services | Managed Services
Permanent - Open across salary
We're looking for an experienced sales leader to join a growing consultancy as its first dedicated commercial hire.
This isn't a traditional "sales bulldog" role, and we're not looking for someone who succeeds through personal heroics alone. We're seeking a commercially-minded leader who can improve how an entire business sells, build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, and drive sustainable revenue growth through both personal contribution and team performance.
If you've successfully improved sales effectiveness within a consultancy, technology services, managed services, or professional services business, this could be an exceptional opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership
- Take ownership of the overall sales pipeline across the business.
- Improve pipeline quality, qualification standards, and forecasting accuracy.
- Focus effort on the opportunities most likely to convert.
- Drive greater consistency and commercial discipline throughout the sales cycle.
- Bring structure and accountability to opportunity management.
Deal Leadership
- Support and lead strategic pursuits from qualification through to close.
- Build and maintain senior client relationships.
- Lead client meetings and ensure clear actions, ownership, and momentum.
- Help identify and secure growth opportunities within existing accounts.
- Maintain visibility and control across multiple complex opportunities simultaneously.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
