About Shotton Mill

We are undergoing a transformation to become one of the most advanced paper manufacturing facilities in Europe. With significant investment in containerboard and tissue production, we are building a business focused on quality, sustainability, innovation and long-term customer partnerships.

As we continue our growth journey, we are looking to appoint an experienced Head of Sales/ Sales Manager to drive commercial performance, develop strategic customer relationships and support the continued expansion of our business.

The Role

Reporting to the General Manager, the Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies that deliver sustainable growth, maximise profitability and strengthen our position in the marketplace.

The successful candidate will be highly customer-focused, commercially astute and capable of building long-term relationships with key stakeholders across a range of industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and strategic accounts.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and supply contracts.
  • Deliver profitable sales growth while protecting margins.
  • Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline and forecast.
  • Work collaboratively with operations, supply chain and production teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and commercial opportunities.
  • Represent Shotton Mill at customer meetings, industry events and networking opportunities.
  • Support the delivery of the company's growth objectives through a proactive and customer-centric approach.

About You

You will be an experienced sales professional with a proven track record of delivering results within a manufacturing, paper, packaging or related industrial environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Demonstrable success in a B2B sales management or senior account management role.
  • Experience within paper, packaging, manufacturing, recycling, tissue, containerboard or a related industrial sector.
  • Proven ability to win new business and grow existing customer accounts.
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
  • Experience managing complex customer relationships and significant commercial agreements.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a focus on profitability as well as revenue growth.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple functions including operations, logistics and production.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.

Desirable

  • Experience within the containerboard, corrugated packaging or paper sectors.
  • Existing industry network and customer contacts.
  • Knowledge of sustainable manufacturing and recycled fibre markets.
  • Experience supporting business growth within a developing or expanding organisation.
