Reports to: Sales Director – Joints & Seals
Role Overview
The Head of Sales UK & Ireland is responsible for leading all sales activities related to customers, market development and profitable growth for Filoform products and solutions across the United Kingdom and Ireland.
The role will focus on expanding the customer base and increasing market share across relevant target sectors, including utilities, telecoms, transport, water, data centres, target customers, like contractors, engineers, specifiers and network operators. The Head of Sales will develop and execute an effective commercial action plan, that delivers sustainable sales growth, protects and grows existing business, and supports the introduction of new products and solutions into the regional market.

It is vital that the Head of Sales remains focused on the achievement of budget, margin improvement, specification growth, customer engagement and long-term business development, leading the sales team and the sales support team, while working closely with internal technical, operational and customer support teams.
What our new ‘Head of Sales’ will be doing
- Lead, manage and develop the Filoform sales function across the United Kingdom and Ireland, ensuring alignment with business objectives and growth plans.
- Provide clear leadership to both the field sales team and the sales support team, building a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration and customer service.
- Set objectives, monitor performance and coach team members to strengthen commercial capability, product knowledge and sales effectiveness.
- Develop and deliver annual sales, margin and growth plans in conjunction with the wider leadership team.
- Deliver budgeted sales and margin performance across the region through effective planning, team leadership and disciplined execution.
- Identify, prioritise and convert new business opportunities across target infrastructure and utility-related sectors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, contractors, engineers, consultants, specifiers, utilities, network operators and other stakeholders.
- Protect and grow existing business while increasing market share and securing new revenue streams.
- Drive specification-led selling and promote the full Filoform portfolio, including support for new product launches in the region.
- Ensure effective coordination between field sales and sales support to deliver responsive handling of enquiries, quotations, project follow-up and customer service.
- Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline management, CRM discipline and reporting, using market and customer insight to guide commercial priorities.
- Manage pricing and support profitable growth across the region.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments including operations, supply chain, finance, R&D and product management to ensure strong delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Provide regular performance, pipeline and opportunity updates to senior management.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in line with Filoform standards for quality, health and safety, and ethical business practice.
- Undertake any other duties as reasonably required by the line manager in line with the needs of the business.
The experience our new ‘Head of Sales’ will have includes
- Significant experience in Sales, Commercial or Business Development within a technical B2B, manufacturing or solutions-led environment.
- Proven success in delivering sales growth and margin improvement across a regional territory.
- Experience of developing business in infrastructure-related or other technical markets.
- Ability to identify customer needs and turn them into commercially successful solutions.
- Strong track record in key account development and new business generation.
- Experience of leading teams, driving performance and building accountability.
- Self-motivated, resilient and able to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
- Proven sales leadership experience within the United Kingdom and/or Ireland in a manufacturing, construction, infrastructure, utilities, telecoms, or other technical B2B environment.
- Demonstrable track record of delivering or exceeding sales and margin targets.
- Experience of leading, coaching and developing field sales and/or sales support teams.
- Strong commercial awareness, including pricing, margin management, forecasting and pipeline management.
- Experience of selling technical, solutions-led products and growing business through value selling, specification development and relationship management.
- Experience of managing key accounts, new business opportunities, project pipelines and commercial negotiations.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office for sales planning, reporting and performance management.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with technical, operational and customer support teams.
- Experience of working with distributors, contractors, specifiers, utilities or network operators would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of cable accessories, duct sealing, underground infrastructure protection, telecoms or utility networks would be highly desirable.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across the United Kingdom and Ireland.
