The Opportunity
This role is responsible for developing and executing the global sales strategy for DTC's Unmanned Systems (UXV) portfolio, driving order intake and revenue growth across defence, law enforcement, government and strategic industrial markets. The Head of Sales – UXV will lead business development activities, manage strategic customer relationships, and oversee the identification, development and capture of new business opportunities for DTC's secure communications, data link and networking solutions across unmanned aerial (UAV), ground (UGV) and surface (USV) platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Management
- Develop and execute the global sales strategy for the UXV business in line with the company's growth objectives.
- Build, lead and develop a high-performing sales team focused on defence, government and unmanned systems markets.
- Establish sales objectives, budgets, order intake targets and performance metrics aligned with business requirements.
- Develop and implement the appropriate sales resource strategy to support regional and global growth.
- Drive pipeline growth, forecast accuracy and sales performance through effective leadership and governance.
- Work closely with Product Management, Engineering, Programmes and Marketing to ensure commercial activities align with business priorities and product roadmaps.
- Provide regular reporting on pipeline, forecast, market activity and strategic opportunities to the Executive Leadership Team.
Business Development
- Identify, qualify and develop strategic business opportunities across defence, law enforcement, government agencies, system integrators, OEMs and prime contractors.
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with military customers, procurement authorities, programme managers, defence primes and channel partners.
- Develop account growth strategies for key customers and strategic international markets.
- Understand evolving operational requirements and translate customer needs into commercial opportunities.
- Identify emerging market trends within unmanned systems, tactical communications, counter-UAS and autonomous systems.
- Work with the Marketing team to develop initiatives that strengthen DTC's market presence and competitive position.

Order Capture
- Lead the capture strategy for major sales campaigns and strategic programmes.
- Ensure robust opportunity qualification, capture planning and bid governance processes are implemented.
- Support the development of competitive pricing strategies and commercial proposals.
- Ensure proposals clearly communicate DTC's unique value proposition, operational advantages and technical differentiators.
- Provide commercial leadership throughout bid development, customer negotiations and contract award.
- Support contract negotiations with customers, partners and distributors to achieve successful commercial outcomes.
What We Are Looking For
Experience / Skills
- Significant experience in a senior sales leadership or business development role within defence, aerospace, secure communications, electronic warfare, C4ISR, unmanned systems or related technology sectors.
- Proven track record of securing high-value international defence and government contracts.
- Experience developing and executing sales strategies across multiple international markets.
- Strong understanding of complex sales cycles involving military, government and prime contractor customers.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop high-performing commercial teams.
- Strong commercial, financial and contractual awareness.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong understanding of unmanned systems (UAV, UGV and USV) and associated operational environments.
- Knowledge of secure wireless communications, RF technologies, tactical data links and networking solutions.
- Experience with tactical military communications, MANET mesh networking, ISR systems and beyond-line-of-sight communications is highly desirable.
- Understanding of defence procurement processes and export-controlled technologies.
- Familiarity with defence systems integration and platform interoperability.
