Head of Sales | Stoke-on-Trent | £70,000-£80,000 + bonus with potential to double your base salary + car allowance + wider benefits

Are you a sales leader who gets results through people? Someone who can challenge a forecast, develop a team and turn growth targets into clear, achievable plans?

We're recruiting a Head of Sales for an established business supplying an incredible range across a broad portfolio of consumer products to UK and international markets. We're looking for an experienced commercial leader who enjoys building a team's capability and improving its performance.

The role

As Head of Sales, your focus will be on leading the sales function and getting the best out of account managers, business development colleagues and external agents. You'll give people clear direction, understand what sits behind the numbers and make sure opportunities translate into profitable growth.

Your priorities will include:

  • Setting clear targets and holding the team accountable.
  • Coaching and supporting individuals, while challenging performance where needed.
  • Managing forecasts, budgets and pipeline with confidence.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve revenue, margin and customer development.
  • Working with the wider leadership team to remove barriers to growth.
  • You'll join important customer meetings and support key negotiations. Your main responsibility, however, is making the whole team more effective, with the time and focus to lead properly.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
