Job Description: Head of Self Pay Strategy & Sales
Hybrid working with up to 3 days per week working from home
New Victoria Hospital, Kingston Upon Thames or Cromwell Hospital, London
Permanent
Salary £90,000 - £105,000 per annum dependent upon experience

Due to continued growth we’re looking to appoint a Head of Self Pay for Strategy & Sales.
Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer
The role serves as the senior commercial leader for Self-Pay pricing and acts as a strategic partner to executive and operational stakeholders across the London Campus. The role combines commercial leadership, pricing strategy, market analysis, governance oversight, and business transformation to enable sustainable revenue growth whilst maximising margin across the diagnostic and secondary care London Self-Pay portfolio.
How you’ll help us make health happen
- Own pricing strategy and performance across the Self-Pay portfolio.
- Develop long-term self-pay roadmaps aligned to business objectives.
- Lead regular portfolio-wide pricing reviews and optimisation programmes.
- Approve packages and eligibility criteria across all specialties and facilities.
- Drive pricing simplification initiatives.
- Oversee implementation of approved pricing changes throughout the organisation.
- Chair or lead appropriate self-pay governance processes and forums.
- Ensure all pricing initiatives are subject to appropriate review, approval and documentation.
- Maintain oversight of self-pay policies, procedures and controls.
- Ensure pricing recommendations are commercially robust and supported by evidence-based analysis.
- Establish effective processes for managing pricing exceptions and escalated requests.
- Develop comprehensive reporting and performance dashboards for senior stakeholders.
- Monitor impacts of pricing and package changes on revenue, volume, margin and patient behaviour.
- Lead post-implementation reviews of significant pricing initiatives.
- Identify emerging risks, opportunities and market trends.
- Commission and review market intelligence, competitor benchmarking and customer insight programmes.
- Sponsor the ongoing enhancement of CRM systems and digital capabilities.
- Act as sponsor for Self-Pay CRM technology and transformation initiatives.
- Ensure quoting processes deliver consistent, transparent and accurate pricing information for patients.
- Drive operational and technological improvements that enhance customer and patient experience and business efficiency.
- Direct high-profile strategic projects requiring pricing and commercial expertise.
- Work with the Head of Contracts and Pricing to lead development of pricing frameworks for new products, services and market opportunities.
- Provide commercial leadership on key business growth and transformation initiatives.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
- Significant senior leadership experience in commercial strategy, revenue management or healthcare operations.
- Familiar with the complexities with the health care / hospital / secondary care environment (front of house, service areas and consultants)
- Understanding of the central London secondary care environment
- Demonstrable experience leading enterprise-wide strategies and operational transformation initiatives.
- Experience managing complex stakeholder environments and influencing executive-level decision-making.
- Strong financial, commercial and analytical expertise.
- Experience developing high performing teams, governance frameworks and commercial reporting capabilities.
- Degree-level qualification in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics or related discipline or equivalent experience in an operational or health finance environment
- Strategic thinking and commercial acumen.
- Executive-level communication and influencing skills.
- Advanced financial modelling and analytical capability.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to translate complex analysis into clear commercial recommendations.
- Experience leading change and transformation programmes.
