MMR is a global consumer and sensory research agency helping some of the world's most recognised brands develop products and innovations that consumers love. We're looking for an experienced and commercially minded sensory leader to head up our UK Sensory Science Centre and play a key role in the continued growth of our sensory business.
As Head of MMR’s UK Sensory Science Centre, you'll lead the operational, commercial and scientific performance of the centre, working closely with clients, colleagues and senior leaders to deliver exceptional sensory research and consultancy. You'll combine strategic leadership with hands-on involvement in client projects, team development and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the UK Sensory Science Centre, ensuring outstanding delivery, quality and operational performance.
- Drive commercial success through revenue growth, client retention and business development.
- Act as a senior sensory consultant and trusted advisor to clients.
- Oversee the design and delivery of complex sensory research programmes.
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing sensory team.
- Build strong partnerships across MMR's Consumer Research, Data Science, Statistics and Commercial teams.
- Champion innovation and contribute to the development of MMR's global sensory capabilities.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
You'll bring significant experience in sensory science along with proven leadership and people management skills. You are equally comfortable discussing methodology with technical teams, presenting recommendations to clients and driving commercial performance.
We're particularly interested in candidates with:
- Extensive sensory research experience, ideally gained within an agency, manufacturer or consultancy environment.
- Strong expertise in descriptive analysis and sensory methodologies.
- Proven experience leading and developing teams.
- Excellent client management and consultancy skills.
- Commercial acumen, including experience contributing to business growth and profitability.
- A degree in Sensory Science, Food Science, Psychology or a related discipline.
