An Exciting Opportunity for Head of Mental Health Services

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dynamic leader to join NELFT as Head of Mental Health Services (Band 8B). This pivotal role offers the chance to shape and deliver outstanding mental health services, ensuring high-quality, safe, and person-centred care for our communities across North East London.

As Head of Service, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across a portfolio of mental health services, driving continuous improvement, service innovation, and excellent patient outcomes. Working closely with clinical leaders, operational teams, commissioners, and partners, you will play a key role in delivering NELFT's vision for integrated and recovery-focused care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide visible and effective leadership across mental health services.
  • Deliver high-quality, safe, and financially sustainable services.
  • Lead service transformation and quality improvement programmes.
  • Ensure performance targets and operational objectives are achieved.
  • Develop strong partnerships with stakeholders across health, social care, and the voluntary sector.
  • Support and develop multidisciplinary teams to achieve their full potential.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion, continuous learning, and clinical excellence.

You will be:

  • An experienced senior manager with a proven track record in mental health services.
  • Skilled in leading complex services and managing change.
  • Experienced in performance, workforce, and financial management.
  • Passionate about improving outcomes for service users and carers.
  • An exceptional communicator who can build strong relationships at all levels.
  • Committed to the NHS values and delivering compassionate, person-centred care.
