Job Description
Head of Service Development needed in Worcester Paying £44.75 per hr ref RQ1747130
Full time hours on a temporary basis
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and delivery of the procurement strategy for future waste disposal arrangements.
- Provide expert advice on waste management, disposal infrastructure, procurement routes and market engagement.
- Oversee the planning, governance and delivery of a major procurement programme from strategy through to contract award.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with partners, advisors, government agencies and private sector organisations.
- Secure and coordinate the resources required to deliver programme objectives.
- Facilitate and support strategic decision-making through established governance frameworks.
- Identify, manage and mitigate programme risks, ensuring effective controls are in place throughout delivery.
- Lead the production of high-quality reports, business cases, policy papers and presentations for senior stakeholders.
- Present complex information and recommendations to executive leaders, boards, committees and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with procurement legislation, regulatory requirements and best practice in waste management.
- Drive programme delivery against agreed budgets, timescales and outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with operational teams and subject matter experts to ensure successful implementation.
