Head of Service Development - Unitas

The Role:
The Head of Service Development is a senior strategic role responsible for designing and delivering the future operating model of Apex Unitas.
The role focuses on building scalable, technology-enabled service capabilities to support growth across new products, jurisdictions, and client segments, while strengthening operational resilience, governance, and client outcomes.
Working closely with the Head of Apex Unitas, Head of Service and broader leadership team, this role is focused on driving larger change initiatives, technology development and implementation, and cross-functional transformation, complementing the continuous improvement of day-to-day operations.
The successful candidate will operate as an individual contributor (with no direct reports) and will be appointed as a Director of Apex Unitas Limited, taking on associated statutory and governance responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Change & Transformation
- Lead delivery of the Unitas operating model transformation, supporting growth into new products, jurisdictions, and services
- Drive major change initiatives, including platform evolution, service expansion, and organisational design
- Reduce key person risk through standardisation, documentation, and scalable process design
Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with the Head of Unitas and senior leadership to define and execute strategic priorities
- Work closely with the Head of Service to ensure alignment between transformation initiatives and BAU operations
- Influence and align stakeholders across Operations, Compliance, Product, and Technology
- Engage with key clients, counterparties, and Apex Group teams where required
Technology & Platform Development
- Support the design, build, and implementation of internal systems and workflow tools
- Act as a key bridge between business, operations, and technology teams
- Drive adoption of scalable platforms to improve data integrity, efficiency, and control
Service & Operating Model Development
- Design and implement scalable service models across the full client lifecycle
- Define clear ownership of onboarding, servicing, and asset lifecycle processes
- Support transition of activities into Operations where appropriate (e.g. AML, onboarding interactions)
Process Design & Delivery
- Lead redesign and standardisation of core processes as part of broader change initiatives
- Deliver end-to-end process improvements through structured project management
- Ensure changes are embedded effectively into BAU teams in partnership with Operations
Regulatory & Governance Frameworks
- Embed regulatory requirements (AML/KYC, client assets, investor protection) into service design and processes
- Enhance controls, governance, and oversight across evolving service delivery models
- Support regulatory change and ensure operational readiness

Skills Required:
- Significant experience in fund services, custody, nominee structures, investment platform operations, technology-enabled operating model transformation & private markets and alternative assets
- Proven track record in delivering change, transformation, or platform implementations
- Strong understanding of FCA-regulated environments, including AML, client assets, and investor lifecycle
- Experience working across operations, technology, compliance, and product teams
- Ability to translate business requirements into technology-enabled solutions and operational design
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior colleagues without direct authority
- Experience supporting new products, jurisdictions, or regulatory change initiatives
- Structured, delivery-focused approach with strong problem-solving capability
