About the Role
Head of SHE has strategic responsibility across both the food manufacturing site and the broiler farming operations, providing a single governance framework for safety, health and environmental compliance from farm to factory. The Head of Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) is responsible for developing, implementing and leading the organisations SHE strategy, ensuring compliance with all relevant UK legislation, industry standards and customer requirements. The role provides strategic leadership to create a proactive safety culture, minimise business risk, protect employees, contractors and visitors, and ensure environmental sustainability across all farm and manufacturing operations. Working closely with the Executive Team, the Head of SHE will drive continuous improvement, champion behavioural safety and support operational excellence within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment and broiler operations.

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent Level 6 qualification)
- Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH) or working towards
- Degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Management or related discipline (desirable)
Desirable Qualifications
- Environmental qualification (IEMA)
- Fire Risk Assessment qualification
- Mental Health First Aid Instructor
Essential Experience
- Senior SHE leadership within manufacturing.
- Food manufacturing or FMCG experience.
- Multi-site management.
- Regulatory compliance and environmental management.
- Incident investigation / Audit management.
- Contractor management.
- Behavioural safety programmes and leadership of SHE teams.
- Budget management and board reporting.
