Head of Social
London | Full-time, permanent
Magnetix is proud to partner with one of the most respected names in the beauty industry — a brand built on distinctive creative vision, decades of expertise, and a loyal global following. As the brand enters its next phase of growth, we are seeking a Head of Social to lead its content and social presence, ensuring it remains consistent, current and true to its creative direction across every platform — from Instagram, TikTok and YouTube to Facebook, Reddit, Redbook and emerging channels as they arise.
The role
This role combines strategic ownership of the brand's content ecosystem with hands-on execution of its social and digital output. You will work in close, daily partnership with the brand's Creative Director, translating her direction into briefs, production plans and content across four distinct pillars — long-form editorial, fast-moving social, elevated brand and product storytelling, and paid.
This is a role with a specific and unusual balance. The Creative Director is also the face of the brand, so this is not a role for someone looking to establish their own creative direction — it is suited to someone who takes genuine satisfaction in understanding another's creative vision deeply and executing it with consistency, pace and craft. That same person also needs to operate comfortably at two very different speeds: calm, structured strategic planning at the quarterly level, and fast, self-directed execution at the daily level, including personally shaping, creating and posting content. Decisions that sit with the Creative Director should be flagged early — this role defaults to bringing her in rather than assuming.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Key responsibilities
- Partner closely with the Creative Director to translate strategic direction into executable content plans across all four pillars
- Own the monthly and quarterly content planning process, including production scheduling and stakeholder review

- Direct and manage the work of a freelance content creator and a researcher, ensuring output is aligned with the brief and delivered to schedule
- Track trends across social and digital culture in real time, and act on relevant opportunities within hours, not weeks
- Identify moments where long-form or brand content can be repurposed across other pillars, maximising the value of every shoot

What we're looking for
Essential
- Experience in a content, editorial or creative production leadership role, ideally within beauty, fashion, luxury or a closely adjacent world
- Experience working within a founder-led business, ideally one going through a period of active growth or scaling
- A demonstrable track record of building and executing content strategy across multiple channels simultaneously, working closely with a founder or creative lead
- Genuine, current fluency in social platforms — proven experience designing and managing content across YouTube, Instagram and TikTok, with a portfolio of platform-native work personally made or directed, not brand content simply posted
- Confident, current video editing skills, with the ability to cut a Reel or TikTok quickly and to a high standard
- Experience briefing and managing freelance creators, researchers or similar support roles
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, with the ability to translate creative direction into a clear brief and to personally write captions, hooks and scripts that are sharp, warm and on-brand

- An eye for visual quality, noticing when something looks slightly off and caring enough to fix it
