Team - Brand and Marketing

Working Pattern

  • Hybrid - 2 days per week in the Vitality London Office. Full time, 37.5 hours per week.

What this Role is All About

As Head of Social Media, you'll lead Vitality's global social strategy, sharing who Vitality is, what we do and what we care about in a way that engages and inspires external audiences. You will turn our brand, ideas, partnerships and products, into stories and content that performs across B2C and B2B audiences. You'll lead organic but bring it together with paid social, to help shape how we're found and understood across social, search and AI ecosystems. With a focus on impact, insight and innovation, you’ll help more people find and experience Vitality, strengthening our role in culture and conversation while delivering measurable commercial results.

Key Actions

  • Define and lead a global social media strategy that drives awareness, consideration and measurable business growth across markets
  • Build an integrated, always-on content system that brings together organic and paid creative, scaling content effectively across channels and the funnel
  • Translate complex ideas, partnerships and product narratives into bold, high-performing social-first content that drives engagement and brand connection
  • Lead major activations including sponsorships and partnerships, delivering continuous storytelling with clear commercial and brand outcomes
  • Be highly creative, able to take what appears uninspiring and turn it into inspiring content
  • Use data, insight and social listening to optimise performance, inform strategy and demonstrate impact to the wider business
  • Shape how Vitality is discovered across social, search and emerging LLM ecosystems, ensuring content is optimised for visibility, relevance and impact
  • Act as the organisation’s social media expert, advising stakeholders, spotting opportunities and strengthening how Vitality shows up in culture and conversation
  • Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, creativity and continuous improvement
  • Own the social media operating model, defining governance, processes and best practice to enable consistent, high-quality delivery across markets
  • Influence senior stakeholders and leaders across the business, embedding social media as a core driver of brand, growth and customer engagement

What Do You Need to Thrive?

  • Proven experience leading high-performing social media teams within complex B2B and/or B2C environments
  • Track record of delivering social strategies that drive brand growth, engagement and commercial impact
  • Deep expertise across LinkedIn, X, Meta, YouTube and emerging platforms, with a strong understanding of B2B and B2C audience behaviours and content strategies
  • Experience building executive thought leadership, employee advocacy and industry influence programmes
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools and technologies to improve marketing effectiveness, content performance and operational efficiency
  • Strong understanding of social analytics, marketing measurement, attribution and performance reporting
  • Strong understanding of discoverability across social, search and emerging AI and LLM ecosystems
  • Ability to turn complex ideas and data into simple, compelling, high-performing content
  • Data-led mindset, using analytics and insight to optimise performance and inform strategy
  • Creativity and the ability to tell stories in an imaginative and engaging way
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with credibility influencing senior leaders and cross-functional teams
  • Experience building and leading high-performing teams in fast-paced, evolving environments
