HEAD OF SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING, STEVEN.COM
COMPANY: STEVEN.COM
REPORTING TO: FOUNDER
LOCATION: LOS ANGELES OR LONDON BASED
MISSION
Make Steven.com the definitive technology-centric creator media company by building and running the world's most effective social-first content engine in our industry, hands on, alongside Steven.
OUTCOMES
-
Brand clarity, coherence, and perception
- Build and launch a clear, compelling Steven.com brand on social: its positioning, narrative, tone, and visual identity. You are the architect and the builder, setting the creative direction and making the work.
- What success looks like:
- Everyone internally and externally can describe what Steven.com is, who it's for, and why it exists, and they all say the same thing.
- Steven.com feels creator-native, trusted, and culturally fluent.
- Steven.com is recognised as a standalone brand, not an extension of a single individual.
- When people in the creator economy are surveyed, Steven.com is the first name they think of, the most known and most respected.
- Creative choices are grounded in audience insight, not trend-chasing.
- It's considered to be the most future-facing, innovative, and pioneering brand in the creator economy.
- Steven.com is the company that creators, brands, and industry partners most want to work with.
-
A story extraction system that feeds the content machine
- There is no shortage of stories to tell. At any given time there are new show releases, new hires, acquisitions, new tools and software launches across platforms like Flightcast.com, new investments, and new creative products. The challenge is building the agentic system that can extract these stories from across the organisation, turn them into great content, and get them out across our channels consistently and at pace. You are hands on and AI-native, close enough to the work to build the system and make the content, not just brief it.
- What success looks like:
- A reliable, repeatable rhythm for capturing what's happening across the organisation in real time.
- No major story, launch, or milestone falls through the cracks.
- Every part of the business understands how to feed stories into the content pipeline.
- Content is consistently getting made and distributed across our channels.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- A content machine that dominates digital
- Turn those stories into a repeatable content operation across our major digital channels. We are taking a social-first, digital-first approach: social media, short-form video, LinkedIn, newsletters, and the platforms where attention lives today. You make the content and run the channels yourself, learning fast about what works natively on each one.
- What success looks like:
- Steven.com has at least 10x the social reach and engagement of any other creator economy company.
- There is a clear reporting system in place that tracks what content is working, what's driving growth, and how it connects to broader business goals.
- Content regularly travels beyond our existing audience.
- Quality and cadence keep rising, not dropping as volume grows.

COMPETENCIES
- Social-native operator: You live and breathe social platforms. You understand how content works natively on each channel, what gets shared, and what builds audiences, and you can show work you have made that performed.
- Hands-on maker: You still create the work yourself. Stepping up into your first “Head of” title, you want to stay close to the craft, not delegate it.
- Creator-economy fluent: You understand creators, audiences, and fandoms. A background in music, sports, IP, or agency and creator work is a strong signal.
- Founder-ready and fast-moving: You thrive working closely with a founder, inside ambiguity and at pace. You do not need a full roadmap or a big team to move the needle, and that environment gives you energy, not anxiety.
- Taste and first-principles thinking: You have real creative instincts and a point of view, and you can explain the why behind your choices by reasoning from what is true about the audience, not by chasing what went viral for someone else.
- Experience: You have hands-on experience making and running social content, ideally some of it in a fast-moving creator, agency, or founder-led environment.
