Role Description
The Head of Software role at CDW UK is a full-time, hybrid position based in the London Area, United Kingdom, with flexibility for partial work from home. This role leads the software development function, setting technical direction, overseeing solution design, and ensuring delivery of high-quality, scalable software that supports CDW’s strategic objectives and customer needs.

- Managing and mentoring software teams
- Aligning projects with business priorities
- Collaborating with stakeholders across engineering, product, sales, and operations
The Head of Software defines and implements software delivery processes and standards, monitors project progress and risks, and drives continuous improvement in development practices, tools, and architectures. The role also contributes to broader IT strategy, evaluates emerging technologies, and supports pre-sales and solution design activities for key customer engagements.
Qualifications
- Strong Software Development expertise, including modern architectures, tooling, and best practices.
- Proven Team Management and Team Leadership experience, including mentoring, performance management, and building high-performing teams.
- Solid Project Management capabilities, covering planning, execution, risk management, and delivery in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Experience in IT Strategy, including aligning technology roadmaps with business goals and guiding digital transformation initiatives.
- Relevant experience leading software functions in an enterprise or large-scale environment, ideally within technology, consulting, or managed services organizations.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, security considerations, and integration of software solutions into broader infrastructure and services portfolios.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; advanced qualifications are beneficial.
