About The Role
Head of Student Cricket
This full-time post is available from 5th October 2026 on a fixed term basis until 30th June 2029. Applications for secondments will be considered subject to agreement from your current line manager.
The starting salary will be from £33,951 to £35,608 on Grade E, depending on knowledge, skills and experience.
This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working - majority of the time on campus and some planning can be undertaken from home. However, this will be dictated by the cricket programme needs and annual cycle of the sport. All coaching delivery will be in Exeter and attendance at fixtures will involve national travel.

About You
We are seeking an experienced cricket coach to be responsible for the development of our programme from participation through to excellence working collaboratively with our partners. Special attention will be given to the continuing development and delivery of the University’s cricket performance programme.

Working in collaboration you will lead and oversee a talent framework model. Opportunities, at the appropriate times, will also be provided to gain valuable insight and developmental experience within our partners environments. The postholder will be expected to build relationships with County Cricket Clubs and home environments for our performance players. Ensuring athletes are supported including visits to home programmes. The post offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced coach to drive forward cricket at the University. In particular you will be responsible for providing a high quality coaching service for the men’s performance programme, developing a coordinated coaching structure across both the men’s and women’s programme and assist in the recruitment of talented cricketers via the University Sports Scholarship Programme and Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme. You will need to demonstrate the highest standards of personal, professional and managerial attributes.
Ideally You Will
- Hold an ECB Level 3 coaching qualification
- Have a proven track record as a coach in cricket
- Have a working knowledge of performance profiling and analysis
- Have experience in developing useful working partnerships with key external agencies
