About the Role
Allerton Bishop is partnering with an established pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Northern England to appoint a Head of Supply Chain.
This is a senior site leadership appointment with significant influence across the manufacturing organisation. The successful individual will lead the development and execution of the site's Supply Chain strategy, ensuring reliable product supply while balancing service, inventory, working capital, capacity, cost and operational performance.
The opportunity requires a leader who can combine strategic thinking with operational delivery, developing greater maturity, visibility and performance across Supply Chain while building a high-performing team capable of supporting the future growth of the site.
Key Responsibilities
As Head of Supply Chain, you will:
- Provide overall leadership of the site's Supply Chain function.
- Develop and execute the site Supply Chain strategy aligned with manufacturing and wider business objectives.
- Lead production planning, material planning and supply planning, ensuring effective alignment between demand and manufacturing capacity.
- Lead capacity planning and constraint management across the manufacturing operation.
- Optimise inventory and working capital while maintaining customer service and supply continuity.
- Oversee warehouse operations, material flow and supply chain execution.
- Support new product launches, technology transfers and manufacturing changes.
- Partner closely with Site Leadership, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance and Global Supply Chain.

Candidate Profile
We are looking for an accomplished Supply Chain leader within a complex manufacturing environment.
- Significant Supply Chain leadership experience within pharmaceutical, healthcare, FMCG or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading a broad site Supply Chain function encompassing planning, inventory, warehousing and material flow.
- Strong knowledge of S&OP, production planning, capacity planning and inventory optimisation.
- A proven track record of improving Supply Chain performance and delivering transformational change.
- Experience working within complex, high-volume manufacturing operations.
- Excellent people leadership skills with experience developing teams and improving organisational capability.
- The ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate effectively across local and global functions.
