Head of Sustainability
London, UK
I’m working with a large international organisation looking to appoint a Head of Sustainability to lead the delivery of its sustainability strategy and programmes.
This is a senior opportunity for someone with strong sustainability expertise who can combine technical knowledge with operational leadership, programme management and senior stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Leading the delivery of sustainability programmes across the organisation
- Managing multiple workstreams, priorities and stakeholder groups
- Supporting carbon, climate and environmental reporting
- Overseeing sustainability data, governance and assurance processes
- Driving environmental performance and continuous improvement
- Supporting supplier and wider value-chain sustainability initiatives
- Preparing updates and materials for senior leadership
- Managing and developing a small sustainability team
- Working cross-functionally with teams across the business
- Supporting wider sustainability transformation and change initiatives

Experience:
- Strong experience within sustainability, ESG or environmental management
- Experience working within a complex corporate or professional services environment
- Proven experience managing sustainability programmes and multiple workstreams
- Good knowledge of carbon, climate reporting and sustainability governance
- Experience with sustainability data, audit or assurance processes
- Exposure to supply chain, procurement or supplier engagement would be advantageous
- Previous people management experience
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Excellent organisational and programme management capability

This could suit someone currently working as a Head of Sustainability, Sustainability Director, Senior Sustainability Manager, Environmental Sustainability Lead, Responsible Business Lead or similar.
We would also be open to speaking with professionals from adjacent legal, environmental or sustainability backgrounds who have strong experience delivering complex sustainability programmes.
