Head of Talent Acquisition, Global

Location: London
Office Days: 4 days per week

Please note that the compensation package can be flexible for the right candidate but we have benchmarked this IRO ~£140,000 plus a very strong performance-related bonus.

About the Role

Middlemore has been retained by a highly successful international financial services organisation to appoint a Head of Talent Acquisition for their global business; a critical leadership appointment reporting to the Chief People Officer and sitting as a member of the HR Leadership Team.

Operating across a diverse portfolio of international businesses and products, this organisation has built an enviable reputation within its market through exceptional client service, commercial excellence, and an uncompromising commitment to quality. Their people are their competitive advantage, and attracting the very best talent remains a strategic priority. Whilst their reputation attracts the key players, we need an equally robust talent acquisition strategy to enable these appointments.

We're looking for a genuine player-coach for this role; someone who enjoys leading a small, high-performing direct sourcing team whilst personally owning complex, senior, and confidential searches across an international landscape including the UK, EU, Asia, and the US. You should genuinely enjoy the executive search process, and thrive on building long-term relationships in markets where reputation matters.

Alongside executive and lateral hiring across front, middle, and back-office, you'll shape and evolve the global talent acquisition strategy, driving improvements across employer brand, early careers, candidate experience, recruitment technology, and operational excellence. Artificial Intelligence and automation will play an increasingly important role in how recruitment is delivered, but this organisation is equally passionate about preserving the human relationships and high-touch experience that differentiate exceptional hiring functions from average ones.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You'll be commercially astute, naturally credible with senior stakeholders, and equally comfortable discussing succession planning with a Chief Executive as you are coaching a small team or engaging directly with executive candidates.

This is a business that sets exceptionally high standards. Commercially ambitious, intellectually sharp, and relentlessly client-focused, they expect excellence from themselves and those around them. Decisions are made quickly, standards are high, and collaboration is expected. In return, you'll join an organisation with an outstanding reputation, significant international reach, and a leadership team that genuinely views Talent Acquisition as a strategic function rather than an operational necessity.
