I am working with a large, complex organisation that is looking for an experienced Head of Talent to join on an interim basis.
This is a senior role with a genuine group-wide remit, responsible for shaping and delivering the organisation's talent strategy and ensuring a strong pipeline of leadership and critical capabilities across the business.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders, including Executive and Board-level leaders, to strengthen succession planning, executive resourcing, leadership development and internal talent pipelines, whilst ensuring the organisation is prepared for its future capability needs.
The role will cover:
- Developing and delivering a progressive, group-wide talent strategy aligned to business objectives and future capability requirements.
- Leading succession planning across executive and critical roles, identifying talent risks and building robust pipelines.
- Overseeing executive recruitment and resourcing, including relationships with external search partners and the wider leadership market.
- Driving internal mobility and career progression for senior leaders.
- Developing and embedding leadership assessment frameworks to identify potential and readiness for progression.
- Partnering with L&D to strengthen leadership capability and create a culture of continuous development.
- Working closely with the DE&I team to improve representation and diversity at senior levels.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to Executive and Board-level stakeholders on talent, succession and leadership matters.
- Providing data-led talent insights, metrics and recommendations to senior governance forums.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You will bring extensive experience across succession planning, executive resourcing, performance and talent management, leadership development and assessment, with the ability to connect talent strategy to wider commercial objectives.
You will be highly credible at Executive and Board level, with excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills. You will also be comfortable using data, analytics and digital tools to provide evidence-based insight and challenge thinking where appropriate.
The ability to balance immediate business priorities with longer-term strategic thinking is essential, as is a strong understanding of external leadership markets and emerging talent trends.
Given the nature of the role, high integrity, discretion and confidentiality are essential.
