We have partnered with a US-listed and a UK headquartered high-growth technology business who are looking to appoint a Head of Tax, based in Central London.
This is a newly created leadership position and a rare opportunity to build and shape a global tax function within a business that has experienced significant international growth, primarily through M&A. As the organisation continues to scale, they are looking for an experienced tax leader to establish the tax operating model, build a high-performing team, and provide strategic guidance across a complex multinational structure.
Operating in a fast-paced environment, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting ongoing M&A activity, organisational restructuring initiatives, and international expansion, whilst ensuring robust compliance and governance across multiple jurisdictions.
The Role
Reporting into the Group CFO, the Head of Tax will be responsible for leading all aspects of the Group's tax agenda. The role will partner closely with Finance, Legal, Treasury, and executive stakeholders to drive strategic decision-making and support the continued evolution of the business.
This position offers the opportunity to create a best-in-class tax function from the ground up, with the remit to build and develop a team as the organisation continues its growth journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the Group's global tax strategy across multiple jurisdictions, balancing tax efficiency with strong governance and compliance
- Build and lead a scalable tax function, including the recruitment and development of a high-performing team
- Lead international tax planning, transfer pricing, tax accounting, and cross-border structuring initiatives
- Support the Group's active M&A programme, including tax due diligence, transaction structuring, integration planning, and post-acquisition optimisation
- Partner with senior stakeholders on legal entity simplification, divisional restructuring, and broader organisational transformation projects
- Advise on the tax implications of changes to operating models, business structures, and international expansion initiatives
- Own direct and indirect tax compliance, reporting, governance, and control frameworks across the Group
- Ensure tax reporting requirements are met under both IFRS and US GAAP frameworks
- Drive cash tax planning and support strategic decision-making across the global business
- Manage relationships with external advisors, auditors, and tax authorities as required

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
