A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced tax leader to join a growing international upstream oil & gas business at a pivotal stage in its development.
This newly created role offers the opportunity to establish, shape and lead the Group tax function, working closely with senior leadership to build a robust tax framework covering governance, compliance, reporting and strategic tax planning.

The business is entering an exciting growth phase with significant investment planned across new exploration and development projects. As a result, the successful candidate will be exposed to a broad range of technically challenging and commercially significant tax matters across multiple jurisdictions.
This role would suit an individual who enjoys building capability, creating structure and influencing business decisions in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the Group's tax strategy, governance and operating model.
- Lead all aspects of corporate tax, international tax and transfer pricing.
- Ensure tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Partner with senior stakeholders on investments, business growth initiatives and strategic projects.
- Identify and manage tax risks while maintaining appropriate controls and governance.
- Support financial reporting, tax provisioning and external disclosures.
- Manage relationships with external advisers and tax authorities.
- Establish and develop the tax function as the business continues to grow.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified tax professional with substantial post-qualified experience.
- Strong international corporate tax expertise.
- Experience managing transfer pricing, tax governance and tax risk matters.
- Proven ability to operate effectively within multinational organisations.
- Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable balancing strategic leadership with hands-on delivery.

Desirable Experience
- Upstream oil & gas sector experience.
- Exposure to Production Sharing Agreements (PSAs).
- Experience supporting exploration and development activities.
- Familiarity with cross-border investment structures and international operations.
- Experience operating within joint venture environments.
