At AJW, aircraft teardowns are more than an operational process. They are a strategic capability that drives asset value, inventory availability and commercial performance across our global aviation aftermarket business. We're looking for a technically accomplished and commercially astute leader to shape the future of our teardown operation.
This role will appeal to someone who thrives on solving complex technical challenges, improving established ways of working and using data, technology and innovation to unlock greater value from aviation assets. You'll combine deep expertise in aircraft components, recovery strategies and asset traceability with the commercial judgement needed to maximise ROI, cash generation and inventory performance.
Working across Asset Management, Technical, Trading, Sales and Operations, you'll input into the development and lead on the delivery of teardown programmes that set new standards for efficiency, control and value recovery.
Key Activities
- Lead aircraft teardown programmes from acquisition through to completion.
- Maximise asset recovery, ROI and cash generation through informed technical and commercial decisions.
- Drive innovative approaches to component recovery, inventory release and value optimisation.
- Use data, technology and operational insight to improve performance and decision-making.
- Deliver process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce waste and accelerate value realisation.
- Manage supplier performance, compliance and operational risk.
- Partner with Trading and Sales teams to maximise inventory monetisation opportunities.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team focused on operational excellence.
- Align technical, commercial and operational stakeholders behind shared objectives.
- Maintain the highest standards of safety, quality, traceability and governance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
