Interim Head of Technical Delivery / Operations
6-month contract | Outside IR35 | Remote
Digital Creative Agency/ Consultancy
We’re working with a fast-growing creative and technology agency looking for an experienced Interim Head of Operations to transform how work is delivered across the business.
This is a technical hands-on operational transformation role within a multidisciplinary agency spanning branding, product, UI/UX, design, film, development, digital marketing, strategy and MarTech integrations.
The business works across a broad mix of fast-moving client projects, so the challenge is less about managing one or two large programmes and much more about creating the structure, visibility and discipline needed to keep a high volume of work moving effectively through the studio.
The mandate
You’ll take ownership of how work moves through the agency from incoming demand and resource planning through to delivery, reporting and continuous improvement.
The focus will include:
- Reviewing and improving end-to-end workflows and delivery processes
- Building more effective resource and capacity planning across creative, product and development teams
- Introducing clear SOPs, governance and ways of working
- Improving project visibility, prioritisation and backlog management
- Optimising the use of project / delivery tooling and technology systems
- Reducing dependency on individuals by creating scalable, repeatable processes
- Supporting and strengthening the day-to-day operating model
- Improving forecasting across skills, resource requirements and project demand
- Creating better visibility around utilisation, delivery performance and operational bottlenecks
- Working closely with leadership to build an operating model that can support continued growth

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
