Role purpose
Lead Go10’s technology function and translate business priorities into a clear, deliverable technology plan. You will be accountable for technical direction, AI adoption, engineering capability, delivery standards, and systems resilience, making effective use of the team and external suppliers.
Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will manage the Product and Digital Lead and provide leadership across software engineering, AI and automation, and technical delivery. Ecommerce will remain under delegated product and trading leadership, supported by reliable systems and realistic delivery plans.
This senior leadership role requires the technical depth to challenge designs, assess risks, and guide engineering decisions. You will contribute hands-on expertise where needed while building the capacity for engineers, project managers, and suppliers to deliver effectively.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of reliable applications, integrations, and data flows. Review code, investigate complex faults, and guide practical improvements.
- Lead major integration and modernization programmes, covering architecture, dependencies, resourcing, testing, cutover, and handover.
- Define a practical path from established systems to a scalable integration architecture. Decide what to retain, improve, or replace, and deliver change without interrupting trading.
- Set and enforce standards for security, access, testing, releases, documentation, and monitoring.
- Maintain operational resilience through incident management, tested recovery, safe retries, duplicate prevention, and transaction reconciliation.
- Lead and mentor engineers, manage technical supplier delivery, and reduce reliance on individual knowledge holders.
- Work with project managers and business owners to agree priorities, estimates, risks, and acceptance criteria, keeping technical decisions distinct from business approval.
- Develop and govern AI and automation services with appropriate data controls, evaluation, and human oversight.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
