The Role
We are seeking an experienced Head of Solution Delivery to lead and deliver technology change initiatives in line with Willis Re, strategic ambitions and critical to our organisation’s success. This role will provide end-to-end leadership, ensuring robust governance, financial forecasting and management, delivery and alignment across multiple workstreams. Leading business engagement and delivery teams to achieve high quality outcomes.
You will be responsible for shaping the programme structure, managing resources and driving execution across diverse teams and third-party partners. Reporting to senior leadership and investor representatives, you will play a pivotal role in the success of the technology function, ensuring the programme delivers on time, within budget and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Leadership & Governance
- Define and maintain the Programme Management Framework, standards and best practices across the technology change portfolio
- Align projects with the firms strategy and specific business objectives
- Lead programme and project planning, scoping, and execution across the technology portfolio
- Drive continuous improvement across the change programme and ensure that governance is appropriately maturing to appropriate oversight whilst supporting scaled delivery
Planning & Delivery
- Define and oversee development of all programmes and projects, including manpower and financial planning, RAID logs, plans and detailed workstream planning be that Agile or Waterfall as appropriate.
- Lead and support workstream Project Managers (Client Servicing & Operations and Technology), ensuring delivery against agreed objectives.
- Drive delivery momentum across all workstreams, ensuring priorities are agreed and met.

Resource & Cost Management
- Design Programme resourcing model, oversee internal project staffing, external vendor and partner engagements, ensuring alignment and value for money.
- Track project progress vs plan. resource effort, project costs and project risks and issues, maintain regular reporting and lead programme and project Boards.
Stakeholder Management
- Manage stakeholder communications and governance reporting as required.
- Provide regular reporting to senior leadership and investor representatives.
Technology Leadership
- Contribute to the success of global technology initiatives and the technology team as a member of the UK and wider leadership team.
- Collaborate across the group to build a strong outcome focus and a collaborative ethos with clearly articulated objectives and a unity of purpose.
About You
- Proven experience in programme management within complex, multi-workstream environments.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and manage high-performing teams in a matrix environment.
- Leadership experience in rapidly evolving environments.
- Expertise in governance frameworks, programme planning, and artefact development.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, resources and third-party vendors effectively.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience reporting to senior leadership and investors.
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-pressure environments, driving delivery and maintaining alignment.
- Experience gained in a commercial insurance or reinsurance environment would be highly advantageous.
