Head of Technology / IT Director / CTO - SaaS/Software Development - Gloucester (2 days p/week)

£90,000 - £100,000 + Benefits + Bonus + Hybrid Working

A leading organisation requires a technically skilled, motivated, and forward-thinking Head of Technology / IT Technical Director who will serve as a technical leader for the IT department and oversee the development, implementation, and management of all technological aspects across the group.

This role requires both hands-on technical expertise (including software development) and strategic oversight to align the department's capabilities with the group's broader operational objectives. Candidates should be versed in developing products/services working in a multi-tenanted environment which can be charged based on user volumes in a SaaS format.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and developing existing systems.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends, with a particular focus on AI and automation.
  • Communicating technical strategies, challenges, and achievements.
  • Evaluating and implementing scalable architectural designs.
  • Ensuring robust data management to enable performance management and drive strategic decision-making.
  • Leading technical teams through agile development methodologies.
  • Setting and managing technology budgets.
  • Management of the full IT team including owning future recruitment, development, and retention of staff.
  • Monitoring system performance and reliability.
  • Identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Skills:

  • Strong experience in web applications development.
  • Proven ability to design and implement robust and scalable systems with flexible and scalable UI that meets future needs.
  • Experience of .Net, React, Python, and SQL.
  • Experience of Azure/AWS.
  • Deep understanding of testing, CI, build, deployment & continuous monitoring.
  • Experience scaling web applications and optimising applications for performance.
  • Leadership capabilities.
