At NewDay

At NewDay, technology is at the heart of delivering better financial futures for millions of customers. We're looking for a Head of Technology Operations to take ownership of the services, teams and technology experiences that support our colleagues, partners and customers every day.

This is a newly created leadership role with significant visibility and impact. Reporting directly to our Director of Technology Enablement, you'll shape the future of Technology Operations, leading a diverse team responsible for service delivery, application support, workplace technology, service management and major incident response.

You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our technology services are resilient, reliable and continuously improving, whilst helping create an environment where teams can do their best work and customers receive the service they expect.

Why this role matters

This is more than keeping the lights on.

You'll own the evolution of NewDay's operational capabilities, moving the organisation from reactive support towards proactive, data-driven service excellence. You'll influence technology strategy, partner with senior leaders across Technology and the wider business, and build a modern operational function that enables growth, innovation and resilience.

If you're a people-focused technology leader who enjoys solving complex challenges, developing high-performing teams and creating outstanding service experiences, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading Technology Operations across business applications, workplace technology, service management and support functions.
  • Creating a flawless support experience for colleagues and commercial partners through high-performing service desk and operational teams.
  • Driving service availability, performance and operational resilience across NewDay's technology estate.
  • Leading major incident management, ensuring calm, effective leadership and clear communication when it matters most.
  • Using data and insight to continuously improve service quality, customer experience and operational performance.
  • Partnering closely with Engineering, Architecture, Infrastructure, Security and Change teams to deliver a joined-up technology service.
  • Developing, coaching and empowering diverse teams and strategic partners to achieve their full potential.
  • Providing trusted leadership and operational insight to senior stakeholders, governance forums and executive audiences.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
