The opportunity
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a hands-on Head of Technology to lead the design, build and delivery of a new guest-facing technology environment for a landmark luxury destination in Edinburgh.
This is a greenfield role with the chance to shape a technology stack from the ground up, creating the platforms and integrations that will connect hotel, food and beverage, retail, spa, events and wider guest experiences into one seamless operating model.
About the role
Reporting to a senior commercial and finance leader, the Head of Technology will take ownership of the guest-facing technology stack across implementation and into live operations. The role combines strategic technology leadership with practical delivery, including platform selection, integration design, vendor management, technical build and operational readiness.
You will work as part of a small senior technology development team, partnering closely with finance, commercial, operational, front-of-house, project and external technology teams to ensure the business is ready to operate from day one.
Key responsibilities
- Own the delivery of guest-facing platforms, including CRM/CDP, property management, point of sale, spa management, ticketing, digital channels and guest room technology.
- Translate an ambitious guest experience vision into practical technology choices that connect multiple venues, services and customer journeys.
- Lead platform selection, configuration, testing, implementation and transition into live operations.
- Design and deliver integrations across SaaS platforms, a central data lake and finance or ERP systems.
- Build custom applications, APIs and integrations where required, using modern development tools and practical engineering judgement.
- Recommend vendors, support commercial negotiation and manage suppliers through implementation and business-as-usual support.
- Lead acceptance testing, readiness planning, handover activity and operational training support.
- Shape, hire and lead the IT support capability required as the business moves towards opening and live operation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks and event-driven integration patterns.
- Ability to build applications and integrations directly when needed.
- Track record of vendor selection, implementation delivery and contract negotiation support across multiple SaaS platforms.
- Experience in luxury retail, hospitality, consumer digital, product-led SaaS or another customer experience-led environment.
