Salary from £63,370 to £73,163 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £80,927 pa inclusive of London allowance
The London School of Economics is a cosmopolitan university situated in the vibrant centre of London that specialises in the study of social sciences.
LSE’s Data and Technology Services division provides services to over 10,000 staff and student users.
The Head of Test and QA provides strategic and operational leadership for the testing and quality assurance function within the School. This role ensures the delivery of high quality software and systems through robust testing frameworks, continuous improvement initiatives and effective team management.

The postholder will lead a team of Test and QA professionals, manage testing projects, and contribute to the School’s broader Technology Strategy.
Candidates Should Have
- Proven experience in leading and managing test and QA teams.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies (e.g. unit, integration, system, regression, UAT).
- Hands-on experience with automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g. Selenium, JUnit, TestNG).
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and DevOps practices.
- Experience in defining and implementing QA strategies and test plans.
