Head of Trade Marketing & Category - Premium Beverage Brands

Fixed-term Contract - 1 year / until December 2027

Location: London

Direct Reports: 1

An established and growing international beverage business is seeking a Head of Trade Marketing & Category to lead the strategic development and execution of its UK brand portfolio.

This is a highly visible commercial leadership role, combining brand strategy, category management, trade marketing and route-to-market development. You'll play a pivotal role in protecting existing category leadership positions whilst launching and scaling exciting new beverage brands across the UK market.

The Opportunity

Working closely with commercial, sales and international marketing teams, you will be responsible for developing category-leading strategies, driving brand growth, and creating compelling activation plans that deliver measurable commercial results. This role offers the chance to influence long-term brand direction, lead innovation initiatives, manage significant marketing investment and develop a talented direct report.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead trade marketing and category strategy across the UK market.
  • Develop and execute brand growth plans across multiple channels and routes to market.
  • Create and deliver effective activation programmes designed to drive awareness, trial, recruitment and retention.
  • Manage digital, trade and experiential campaigns to maximise return on investment.
  • Use consumer, shopper and category insights to shape strategic decision-making and identify growth opportunities.
  • Partner with sales teams to develop compelling customer propositions and commercial selling tools.
  • Own and optimise the UK marketing budget.
  • Contribute to annual business planning and long-term commercial strategy.
  • Drive new product development initiatives and support successful market launches.
  • Lead, coach and develop a Trade Marketing Executive.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience within FMCG, ideally in beverages or closely related consumer categories.
  • Strong background across brand marketing, trade marketing and category management.
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing commercially effective activation programmes.
  • Excellent analytical capability with the ability to translate consumer and category insight into action.
  • Experience building go-to-market strategies and delivering sustainable brand growth.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and an ability to work effectively across international and cross-functional teams.
  • Commercially minded, curious and highly motivated with a relentless focus on results.
  • Willingness to spend time in the market, understanding consumers, customers and emerging trends.
