LGT Wealth Management UK LLP is a UK-based partnership, wholly owned by the private banking group LGT, which is in turn owned by the Princely Family of Liechtenstein. When we set up LGT Wealth Management in 2008, our aim was to offer a fresh approach to wealth management. Alongside the LLP we also have two other entities which focus on US and Jersey based clients. Our head office is based in London however we have a presence in Edinburgh, Jersey, Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Training and Competence
- Own the operation of the T&C framework for certificated and other in-scope populations, including onboarding, attaining competence, supervised status, annual competence assessment, CPD and ongoing monitoring.
- Partner with front office leaders and regulatory supervisors to define role-relevant competence standards, assessment evidence and development actions; challenge weak or incomplete evidence constructively and consistently.
- Deliver a risk-based annual T&C plan that reflects business strategy, regulatory change, conduct themes, quality findings, incidents, complaints and client-outcome considerations.
- Maintain the T&C policy, procedures, role profiles, assessment templates and guidance. Ensure they remain current, usable, proportionate and aligned with applicable FCA requirements and internal governance.
- Lead annual competence assessment and certification support activity for the relevant population, including Fitness & Propriety assessments, CPD and Statement of Professional Standing controls where applicable; maintain clear audit trails and escalate exceptions promptly.
- Provide targeted coaching, group sessions and practical support for new joiners and colleagues requiring development, with particular focus on technical capability, quality of client documentation, suitability thinking and professional judgement.
- Develop the capability of regulatory supervisors so that supervision is meaningful, documented, timely and focused on both technical competence and behaviour.
- Produce accurate, insightful MI on competence status, overdue actions, assessment outcomes, CPD, themes and emerging risks. Present clear commentary and recommendations to senior stakeholders and relevant governance forums.
- Analyse T&C data alongside quality assurance, compliance monitoring, conduct and performance information to identify root causes and determine whether intervention is needed in learning, supervision, process, controls or leadership.
- Maintain appropriate records within the firm’s systems, safeguarding data accuracy, confidentiality, retention and readiness for audit or regulatory review.
- Work closely with Compliance, Risk, HR, Operations and the wider Training & Development team on regulatory change, control enhancements, learning initiatives and cross-functional projects.
- Build effective relationships with relevant external professional bodies and suppliers; stay current on industry practice and developments relevant to T&C, professional standards and wealth management.

Training & development strategy and delivery
- Lead a pragmatic and commercial Training & Development strategy that supports the Firm’s aims, client proposition, progression pathways, culture, leadership and evolving skills needs.
- Deliver high-quality learning across technical competence, leadership, risk and conduct, professional development, digital skills and mandatory learning.
- Partner with HR Business Partners and Group Centres of Excellence to deliver annual succession planning, ensuring appropriate development pathways for key talent.
- Align learning with talent, performance, succession, reward, recruitment, wellbeing, inclusion and processes.
- Work with SMEs in the HR team and wider business, to assess how AI, automation and digital learning may change Training and Development, progression pathways and leadership requirements.
Leadership and team management
- Provide visible leadership for the Training & Development team, setting clear direction, priorities, service standards and accountabilities across both T&C and general learning and development.
- Lead, coach and develop team members; set objectives, manage performance and capacity, build succession and ensure the team has the regulatory, technical, learning-design and stakeholder-management capability required.
- Create an integrated team plan that balances cyclical T&C and regulatory activity with the wider learning agenda and priorities.
- Manage relevant budgets, suppliers, learning platforms and external professional relationships, ensuring value, quality and appropriate governance.

Requirements
Key Skills and Technical Requirements
- Proven senior level experience in HR, either in a generalist or specialist capacity with demonstrable hands on experience of supporting a Training & Competence framework in a UK financial services environment.
- Strong experience in delivering commercial and pragmatic learning and development programmes across all levels.
- Strong working knowledge of FCA T&C expectations, SM&CR, Conduct Rules, Fitness & Propriety and Consumer Duty, and the ability to apply these pragmatically.
- Experience of competence assessment, supervision frameworks, CPD/SPS controls, T&C record management and governance reporting.
- Ability to interpret data, identify meaningful trends and translate MI into focused actions and senior-level recommendations.
- Confident user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and able to work effectively with learning, HR or competence-management systems.
