The Team You’ll Work With

The Head of Transactional Credit is a leadership role reporting to the Head of Growth & Financing. The role is responsible and accountable for leading the Transactional Credit Team (TCT) to ensure timely, accurate and well-controlled execution of client transactional credit requests, ensuring strong risk discipline and adherence to policy and process. In parallel, the role also owns the delivery and management of our Associate Development Programme (ADP), including workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, training, rotation allocation and day-to-day oversight of Associate cohorts to build a strong, diverse talent pipeline aligned to business needs.

The Value You’ll Add

The role holder will work closely with Relationship Management teams, Debt Finance, and Credit Risk partners to ensure client needs are met efficiently through TCT and ADP while maintaining HSBC’s risk culture and conduct expectations. A typical day may include prioritising and reviewing live client limit requests, removing execution blockers, coaching team members, aligning on risk and credit requirements with partners, planning Associate rotations with business heads, and ensuring a consistent, high-quality ADP experience across the programme.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
