Head of Transactional Services

Location: Central London

Hybrid: 4 days in the office, 1 day work from anywhere

Salary: £125,000 per annum + Bonus & Benefits

A high-growth, private equity-backed organisation is seeking an experienced Head of Transactional Services to lead and develop its transactional finance function.

Reporting to the Finance Director, this senior leadership position will oversee a large team across Accounts Payable, Credit Control and Billing. The successful candidate will be responsible for strengthening operational performance, controls, cash collection and processes across a complex, high-volume environment.

The Role

You will take ownership of the end-to-end transactional finance operation, with responsibility for:

  • Leading and developing a team across AP, AR and Billing.
  • Driving improvements in credit control, collections, dispute resolution and working capital.
  • Overseeing accurate, timely and commercially effective billing processes.
  • Ensuring robust AP controls, supplier processes and payment operations.
  • Establishing clear KPIs, SLAs and performance standards across the function.
  • Leading process improvement, automation and finance transformation initiatives.
  • Supporting ERP, workflow, reporting and technology enhancements.
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders across Finance and the wider business.

About You

We are looking for an experienced transactional finance leader with a strong background across AP, AR, Billing, P2P and/or O2C, ideally within a complex, fast-paced and high-volume organisation.

  • Proven experience leading sizeable transactional finance teams.
  • Strong knowledge of credit control, billing and working capital.
  • A track record of process optimisation, automation or transformation.
  • Strong understanding of financial controls and operational governance.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • A commercially minded, data-driven and people-focused leadership style.

CICM, ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification would be advantageous, as would experience working with ERP and automation platforms.
