An established and highly successful FMCG business is seeking an experienced Head of Transport to lead its national transport operation across multiple distribution sites.

Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, you will take strategic responsibility for the company's transport function, leading a team of Transport Depot Managers, Planning Managers and Compliance specialists to deliver exceptional service, operational excellence and regulatory compliance across a complex national distribution network.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping the transport strategy, optimising fleet operations, improving transport KPIs and supporting the wider operational objectives of the business. Working closely with senior stakeholders across Operations, Commercial, Planning and Supply Chain, you will lead transport optimisation projects, develop high-performing teams and embed best practice across all depots.

Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience leading multi-site transport operations within a fast-paced FMCG company.
  • Strong knowledge of DVSA legislation, Operator Licence compliance and transport best practice.
  • Demonstrable success delivering transport optimisation and continuous improvement projects.
  • Experience managing transport budgets and delivering against key operational KPIs including OTIF, service, labour and fleet performance.
  • Strong understanding of transport planning, fleet management and operational systems, ideally including ERP platforms.
  • An inspirational leader with the ability to develop, coach and influence high-performing teams across multiple locations.
  • International CPC (Essential), NEBOSH (Desirable).
