Role Overview

As a Transport Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day logistics operations, ensuring smooth and efficient transport services. Your work will play a key role in keeping the business running effectively focusing on operational performance, profitability, and managing a driver population.

Description

  • Plan and manage transport operations to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Monitor and optimise routes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Lead and support the logistics team to achieve operational goals.
  • Ensure all transport activities comply with health and safety standards.
  • Manage budgets and track profitability of operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to meet customer requirements.
  • Analyse transport data to identify trends and implement improvements.

Profile

A successful Transport Manager should have:

  • A manager's CPC with a knowledge of operational best practice.
  • A focus on compliance and a high standard for vehicle maintenance.
  • A commercial attitude to transport management with an ability to manage customer relationships.
  • A background in winning customer relationships and business development would help.
