Head of Treasury
Moneybox’s rapid and exceptional growth has created a new position designed to drive treasury strategy, ensuring the company’s operations remain on the cutting edge with unmatched excellence in governance. Here, Treasury represents more than simply banking management—it’s about leveraging technology and financial products to maximise liquidity and commercial returns while staying within the agreed risk framework. This role entails supporting and questioning product development, instrumenting strategic direction, and mentoring your team to achieve best outcomes.
What You’ll Do
Your responsibilities will extend well beyond managing a function—they’ll also involve shaping the company’s strategic direction. This means playing a pivotal role in cross-functional steering committees, quarterly planning meetings, and leadership discussions.
Given Moneybox’s strong culture, you will be integral in maintaining and amplifying it by embodying our values through your leadership. As Head of Treasury, you’ll act as a trusted advisor to the VP Finance, with direct engagement opportunities in discussions with the CEO and COO.
Here’s how you’ll deliver within the role:
- Values-driven leadership: Ownership of the entire treasury function, setting the tone through humility, radical honesty, and a high-trust model that inspires your team.
- Operational excellence through accountability: Focus relentlessly on collective results by overseeing processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency remain benchmarks for the team.
- Curious & Data-Driven: Drive decision-making by probing beneath finance surfaces, using behavioural insights to shape liquidity strategies.
- Architect of transparent governance: Design KPIs and risk frameworks that provide clarity, encourage buy-in across the company, and solidify decision-making confidence.
- Strategic automation driver: Utilise technology to dismantle manual inefficiencies; champion technological strategies and set functional goals for adoption.
- Collaborative relationship builder: Cultivate authentic, mission-aligned partnerships with banking counterparts and other stakeholders.
- Cross-functional partner: Bridge silos to ensure operational excellence and drive commercially positive outcomes—not just for finance but for the whole business.
- Accountable regulatory guardian: Oversee critical reporting (ICARA, MIF), ensuring flawless compliance and regulatory integrity through rigorous attention to detail.
- Commercially sharp strategic advisor: Translate complex datasets into actionable C-suite insights to shape high-stakes financial and commercial decisions, including M&A, funding strategies, and IPO readiness.
- Voice of healthy conflict: Contribute vigorously to Treasury Management Committee discussions, becoming a driver of frank but constructive challenges to advance company benefits.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
