£60,000 - £65,000 Basic + Commission

Beach Baker is delighted to be instructed on behalf of a well-established and highly regarded property consultancy in the search for a Head of Valuation.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Chartered Surveyor and Registered Valuer to take ownership of an established valuation function whilst remaining actively involved in fee-earning commercial valuation work.
The role offers a combination of technical leadership, client relationship management, valuation delivery and graduate mentoring. Working within a collaborative professional team, the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining service excellence whilst supporting the continued development of the valuation department.
The Opportunity
- Lead the day-to-day operation of an established valuation team.
- Undertake commercial property valuations and development appraisals across a broad range of asset classes.
- Manage valuation instructions from initial enquiry through to inspection, reporting and completion.
- Maintain and develop strong relationships with lenders, professional contacts and existing clients.
- Oversee valuation workflow, allocation of instructions and quality control.
- Ensure compliance with RICS Valuer Registration and Red Book requirements.
- Contribute towards risk management and professional standards across the valuation function.
- Support, mentor and develop graduates and junior surveyors working towards professional qualification.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the wider business on valuation-related matters.
- Assist in the ongoing growth and development of the valuation service.

About You
- MRICS qualification and RICS Registered Valuer status.
- Proven commercial valuation experience across multiple sectors including office, industrial, retail, mixed-use and development opportunities.
- Experience undertaking valuations for loan security, acquisition, financial reporting and other professional purposes.
- Strong understanding of valuation methodology, professional standards and reporting requirements.
- Experience managing valuation instructions from commencement through to completion.
- The ability to manage workload, prioritise instructions and maintain technical excellence.
- Experience mentoring graduates or supporting APC candidates.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- A proactive and commercial approach with strong organisational abilities.
- Full UK driving licence.
