The Role:

Whether through specialist knowledge, problem-solving, innovation, or collaboration, you'll help drive continuous improvement and support the delivery of exceptional experiences for residents, customers, and colleagues.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Operational Excellence, Compliance, and Standardisation: Overall responsibility through the Village Managers for operational delivery across the Village. Accountable for service quality, environmental standards, Health & Safety, security, and regulatory compliance. Establish a single operational standard across all villages, ensuring residents receive a consistent experience regardless of location. Visible across the sites and to act as the senior operational escalation point. Resolve cross-site issues and escalated complex operational challenges. Oversee out-of-hours arrangements and issues that Village Managers cannot resolve.
- Strategy Implementation: Provide operational insight and evidence to support the Director's strategic planning. Convert agreed strategic priorities into practical delivery across the villages.
- Financial, Commercial, and Operational Performance: Hold Village Managers accountable for their operational and P&L performance. Monitor operational performance and financial outcomes across all sites. Ensure budgets are effectively managed and performance targets achieved. Own the operating rhythm for the villages, including meeting structures, KPI framework, decision-making processes, and monthly performance reviews.
- Continuous Improvement and Efficiency: Lead efficiency and improvement initiatives across Catering, Front of House services, Procurement, and Operational processes. Deliver tangible savings and operational improvements.
- Leadership and Capability: Lead and develop the Village Managers; set objectives, manage performance, strengthen leadership capability within the Villages, and oversee succession planning (including a capable “second line”).

About You:
We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate the following key skills and requirements:
Essential:
- Substantial experience as an operational leader in a multi-site function or organisation
- Proven track record of raising standards and creating consistency across sites that have historically run their own way
- Confident people leader who can hold experienced managers to account and develop them
- Strong commercial knowledge and understanding of budget, with real profit and loss accountability
- Confident using data and building KPIs; experience using data to inform decision making.
- Able to build rapport and credibility with residents and customers
- Knowledge and application of health and safety rules and regulations
Desirable:
- Previous experience, ideally in retirement living, housing, hospitality, or care-adjacent services
- Existing safeguarding and GDPR knowledge in a residential setting
