In the role of Head of Wardens (South) you will provide strategic and operational leadership for our national Warden Operations team for the Southern region. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and consistent delivery of services across multiple contracts and sectors, while driving performance, operational effectiveness, engagement, compliance, and client satisfaction.
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will lead a team through a structure of Area Managers, and Team Leaders, ensuring the successful delivery of operational objectives and supporting Agena Group's continued growth.
Regular travel throughout the UK is expected, along with attendance at an Agena Group office as required.
Responsibilities And Duties
Operational Leadership
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the national Warden Operations function.
- Lead, support, and develop Area Managers, Team Leaders, and field-based teams to achieve operational excellence.
- Ensure the delivery of all contractual obligations, service level agreements, and operational KPIs.
- Drive a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement across the operational structure.
- Monitor operational performance through data-driven analysis and implement improvement plans where required.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Develop and implement operational strategies that support Agena Group's growth objectives.
- Establish and monitor meaningful KPIs that drive service quality, compliance, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
- Lead operational transformation initiatives and support the implementation of new systems, processes, and technologies.
People Leadership
- Build high-performing Warden teams through structured recruitment, coaching, succession planning and ongoing development, ensuring consistent service excellence across multiple locations.
- Create a high-performance culture focused on engagement, wellbeing, and development.
- Lead workforce planning activities to ensure appropriate resource levels across all operational areas.
- Promote a positive and inclusive working environment that supports staff retention and professional growth.
Compliance, Health & Safety
- Support and maintain compliance with all applicable ISO standards and integrated management systems, contributing to continual improvement initiatives and audit requirements.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of BPA, IPC, Security Industry Authority (where applicable), and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Lead a strong health and safety culture throughout the operation.
- Ensure incidents, accidents, near misses, and compliance breaches are properly investigated and addressed.

Strategic Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Operations Director to shape and execute the wider operational strategy.
- Prepare and present operational performance reports, KPI dashboards, and improvement plans to senior leadership teams.
- Support operational due diligence, mobilisation, integration, and transformation activities associated with acquisitions, new contracts, and business growth initiatives.
- Identify future resource requirements and organisational structures to support growth.
- Develop policies, procedures, and operational standards that improve consistency and resilience.
- Contribute to business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and operational reporting.
Who You Are
Essential Experience
- Significant experience leading large, geographically dispersed operational teams.
- Proven track record in security, parking enforcement, public realm, facilities management, environmental services, or similar operational sectors.
- Experience managing managers and multi-layered leadership structures.
- Strong understanding of performance management, workforce planning, and operational delivery.
- Experience working within a regulated environment with responsibility for compliance and governance.

- Professional management qualification or equivalent leadership experience.

Other Information About The Role
- Salary: £67,000 per annum plus bonus
- Hours: 40 per week; Monday - Friday 9am - 5.30pm
- Location: Remote with regular travel, to be based in Slough, London or the South
- Reports to: Operations Director

You must be able to legally live and work in the UK without sponsorship. This role is based in the UK
This role is available as part of a hybrid working environment
The postholder will be required to travel to external meetings on occasion and to other office locations by the most effective means available
